The McDougal Foundation reserves the right to decide what books will be accepted and distributed by the Foundation. Decisions on donated books are based on content and condition of the books.

All books that are donated for distribution must adhere to the basic tenets of the Christian Faith, which are:

1. We believe in one God, who has existed eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
   
   
2. We believe the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, that it is authoritative and infallible.
   
   
3. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious atonement through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal and visible return in power and glory.
   
   
4. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that man was tempted by Satan and fell into sin. Because of this sin, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is necessary for salvation. Regeneration is possible only through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
   
   
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and by Whom the Church is empowered to carry out Christ's Great Commission.
   
   
6. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost at the final judgment; those who are saved to spend eternity in the presence of God, those who are lost to spend eternity in the lake of fire.

No books will be accepted that preach a gospel other than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paperback books are preferred. Hardcover book donations are discouraged because of the increased higher costs to ship them and because most prisons do not permit inmates to own or use hardcover books.

Books must not be so damaged as to be unusable by the recipients. The book covers must be intact, not torn off. All pages must be intact and legible.
