Curt Shirley had a comfortable life with his wife and two children in Georgia. It was 1944 and D-Day, a great American victory, had just taken place on the European front. Surely World War II would soon be over and the troops would come home! Everyone hoped so. Everyone prayed so. But one day Curt's life changed drastically. He received his notice to report for active military duty. The war wasn't over. There would be a strong American surge to push the Germans back, invade their country, and complete Hitler's defeat.
