These poems were not written to please the ear or flatter the intellect but to minister to the wounded and shock or shake those who wounded them. These verses are about Heaven and Hell, salvation and judgment, holiness and hypocrisy, life and death and joy and pain. We have savored the wit and wisdom of Bob Revell's poetry for many years. His wit most likely began budding as life unfolded for him with his 7 siblings, on a farm during the Great Depression. Some people lost all hope in those years, but Bob managed to see the humorous side of adversity. Never have we known personally a man more gifted with a creative mind, a gentle heart and a talent for communicating in verse. He is one of a kind as are the delightfully probing pages of this book. Joan and Bob Rhoden In Bob's words. "I am less a poet than a pastor - and my poetry is as imperfect as my pastoring. But I am a preacher who has worked on the farm and in the factory, in the school and in the church, in the country and in the city - preached to the few and the many - and have been unpaid, underpaid, and overpaid." Rev. Robert Revell has been married to his sweetheart Ruth, for more than 55 years. They have two children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They are currently residing in Falling Waters, West Virginia.
