Certainly I am more than I was and less than I will be, but I am determined to live for my heavenly Father for whatever remains of my life. I am weary of excuses and the tragedy that accompanies them. That is why this book was written. I have met those who suffer from the perception that since they have been victimized they must remain victims. God longs to set us free … really free. But with the freedom “from” comes the freedom “to” — freedom to do and to be all that He has intended for us. That is a frightening, if not sobering, thought for most of us. It is not enough to be set free from our past, our pain and our pursuers. We must, in the light of that freedom, pursue God’s purpose with courage, honor, dignity and ... discipline. There are no shortcuts, only God and His infinite wisdom, mercy and love. Trust Him to guide you, as He has guided me and so many others. — Roger DeFoe
